This course provides an introduction to the sport of lawn bowling at the century-old Thistle Lawn Bowling Club, 1561 Asylum Ave. West Hartford, within the beautiful environs of Elizabeth Park. In this course you will learn the skills and rules required to play the game. You will play matches with others in the class, and most of all enjoy the social sport of Lawn Bowling within a beautiful park under the lights. Lawn bowling is best compared with bocce, but the game has more finesse, since we play on a manicured lawn where bowls are rolled rather than tossed, and the bowls have the power to curve around the other bowls already played. The game is easy to learn, fun to play, and we have all you need to get started. Most of all it’s a great game for enjoying summer days and nights, meeting new friends and socializing.
