Summer Jazz Jam! is a two-week jazz program for students entering grades 7th to 10th who have 2 or more years of experience on saxophone, clarinet, flute, trombone, trumpet, bass, piano, guitar or drum set. This is a great opportunity for students to improve their jazz chops, as both soloists and ensemble players. Students will benefit from quality group and individualized instruction, jazz improvisation in small combo and big band ensemble experiences, while learning from experienced jazz educators and professionals on a variety of instruments. This is a unique opportunity to learn with other students from multiple school districts in the Greater Hartford area who love jazz! The program will culminate in an evening performance date TBD. Details regarding this performance will be provided on the first day of camp. There are no auditions, but students should anticipate a brief five-minute placement interview on the first day of the program.
